"For the first time, women have a public forum in which to process their experience in a mature way. So, I am left with the question: Why has The Vagina Monologues been protested by a vocal minority of Catholics when it has been offered on Catholic campuses?"

I suppose I'm left with the question: If The Vagina Monologues is indeed "a public forum in which to process [the female] experience in a mature way," why do the people who promote it seem to intentionally play up its potential shock value? That doesn't seem very mature to me.
(Having said that, I've only seen excerpts from the play, so I'm not prepared to comment on whether the play is good, bad or neutral.)
The protests might have something to do with the fact that the performance endorses promiscuity and homosexuality.
Would greatly appreciate the adding of one or both of our links to your webpage.
