William F. Buckley has passed away!
Found at his desk on the morrow’s day.
Hunched over in a passionist’s furribund
Writing his way to the moribund.
WILLIAM F. BUCKLEY HAS PASSED AWAY:
Is what the headline read on that sad day
When America walked a little slower
And America’s head hung a little lower.
I read in the paper of his life:
Of cackles, squirrels, and of his wife.
His breath and spirit was flowing ink
And his thought was the American mink.
A gentleman of true humanity
Respected all regardless of their vanity.
The world became a written cliché
When William Buckley passed away.
Who will arise to take his place?
He is a man that none can replace.
