Of course, what they meant is "make it angry and ugly so that we get the point across." I think you do a great job of making a case for this adage herein.<br /><br />I also really appreciate your premise at the end. "Respond to the evil with love." I think you could stand to bear this out with a few more examples in the text of the lecture. Pick an absolutely glorious piece of music (the Hallelujah chorus for example)and discuss its merits; and then throw out something by a band that makes really ugly music, and discuss what is wrong with it.<br /><br />Also, I think you should strengthen the challenge a bit at the end. "Refuse to eat the garbage that you are being force fed." Also, perhaps you could briefly discuss "how" to listen to music, this would fit in nicely with your discussion of the different charateristics of music.<br /><br />Overall, great stuff and thanks for sharing.
